The starter finally gave up the other day, so a suitable replacement was borrowed, but I've now got one that needs a rebuild - cue Laurie!
Ok, I know Laurie's stopped rebuilding them - has anyone else taken up the gauntlet?
yes,jeb has done two already, made a really good job of them as well, but we cant get hold of any more brushes unfortunately.
Well we met up yesterday and he,s just done another one, although doesnt probably want me to say (yet) :-) Brushes sourced and filed to shape, and a very very nice job done.I said he should start up ,excuse the pun :-) He also showed me his variator holding tool he made, impressed or what.
There should hopefully be some more brushes available soon, jeb has kindly agreeed to do them on an exchange basis, providing the donor one to be sent back to him has not been messed around and has not been rendered useless for refurb,he has one already completed for exchange right now.It is also mentioned on the forum site so first come etc.
That's what killed this off before-Dummies buying the refurb, returning a screwed up unusable one and there beng NO comeback.
Guys, jeb, please put a £100 refundable deposit contingent on returning a serviceable motor or it will happen again.
Alternatively, you Must Receive the exchange before sending out the refurb.
Remember these are not c1ub members, they are owners who've found a cheap refurb service for their self destroyed
Starter, got it fixed and ridden off into the sunset.
My two pence duly spent....
That's a good idea and as Treasurer I'd be happy to administer the deposits/paybacks, to make sure Jeb is protected and also to avoid him having to deal with the paperwork.
I've now got a couple of starters that are awaiting some lurve.
I've bought replacements of fleabay to keep running, but as they were used - who knows how long they'll last. (or is that tempting fate?)
