A few weeks back I went to the chiropractor.  Outside the sugery he had his gert bit BMW motorbike on a trailer covered with a tarp.  Selling it?  says I.  Apparently he was touring Scotland with a friend, went to overtake a tractor and of course the driver turned right in front of Jan sending him and bike flying.  This is the second person I know with a Beemer that has suffered an accident in this way.  Oo-er.  :o

I would put that more down to the impatient nature of beemer owners.

Rider error - how far do tractors travel on the public highways? If a tractor, that lives in fields, is driving along a road what is it likely to do next?

"What can be seen, what cannot be seen and what can reasonably be expected to happen" as they say...

West country - gert (or girt?) = great;  often found as in "gert big"  - am I correct Pam?

Yes John, gert big or great big.  Comes of living in a Berkshire village or two. :)

>impatient nature of beemer owners.<

Tractor drivers are a flipping menace,  if their indicators aren't working how does one know if they are suddenly going to swing right into a lane obscured by hedgerows, trees etc.  The bloody things go for miles without pulling over to let traffic by.

One of Dave Death's lot (motorbike dealers on IOW) got killed hitting the trailer of a tractor turning into a field.
